I’d love to see a review of Vietnamese Cuisine. I am a friend of Lady A, and we intend to check it out soon to see if it is as well executed and run as Viet Sandwich.

Hey Amanda, absolutely LOVE your new web site venture! It’s got a great “vibe”– well done! Here are a few that I’d love to see you try, and forgive me if you’ve already reviewed them:
    Maggie Meyers Irish Pub
Yokohama Japanese Restaurant (May not be open after their kitchen fire a few months back)
The Original Public House (when it opens)
    Cajun Cafe (Lacey’s Spring)
    Belle Chevre (new location downtown)
    Brasserie Juno
    Happy Tummy
Thanks again for all your wonderful culinary contributions and have a great weekend!

You MUST go and try MVP Spirits and Grill. We ate there tonight and it was the absolute best food I have eaten in HSV. My hubs had the stuffed grilled cheese with black rice and I had the skewer bites with sweet potato fries. This place is anything but ordinary!! Excellent beer choices and Non-Smoking as well!! Enjoy! We sure did.

Can you guys please go visit Charrito’s Bar & Grill in Providence? They moved to a new location and the food is outstanding!!! I’m from Southern California and to find Mexican food that I actually crave is huge for me. The salsa is amazing! Thanks ladies! Keep up the reviews, I love to read them!

Hey Emily, Thank you so much for the suggestion! This is actually something I’ve been pondering and don’t have a good answer for…when to do re-reviews. We reviewed Charrito’s when it was in their Parkway location and weren’t impressed. (You can see our original review here: http://huntsvilleeats.com/2012/07/charritos-bar-and-grill-155.html). However, that was over 2 years ago AND in a different location. We currently don’t do re-reviews (there just isn’t enough time!) but perhaps a new location is worth making an exception for? I’m interested in input.

I never went to their old location so I cannot attest to the difference in their food now that they have moved. I can tell you, though, that I have tried the majority of Mexican restaurants in town and this is the only one I will frequent. When we do visit the restaurant it is never very crowded and I fear that they will close, like the previous tenants (Tony’s Little Italy, which, we loved), and I will have no where to go to get my enchilada fix. I know there are tons of restaurants in town to review so I can understand the time constraint, but I hope you can make an exception. Thanks!

BTW – I meant to also point out that the service at the restaurant is top notch. We have a 3 year old and they have gone above and beyond to make a meal for her that she would eat, one that was not on the menu. I’ve never ordered something and it come out of the kitchen wrong. The drinks are great and they always have specials and happy hour.

Had an amazing dinner at The Bottle last night. Met the chef who brought us a complimentary appetizer. The bartender, hostess and waiter were all so very nice and accommodating. Hefty tab at the end of the night but worth every penny. Food was divine!

You should check out 5A’s Restaurant in Harvest off of Hwy 53. Family-owned Persian/Greek Fare Restaurant with THE BEST RICE in town! It’s definitely a local (Harvest) favorite!

Hi Amanda, I second the request to review 5As! Also, I’ve been to Cork and Crust (former Famous Joe’s Pizzaria location) a couple of times and would love to see your thoughts on it, too! Hope your Christmas was wonderful and that you have a GREAT 2015. Thanks for the great blog!

Sorry for the multiple posts, but other restaurant review requests are:
    Taco Mama
    Asian Rim
(both are in the Twickenham ____??___ (not sure of the full name)) development where the “downtown” Publix is.

Mason Dixon Bistro. I live out of town & thought this new restaurant sounds promising, but I’d like to know if it’s worth the trip to Huntsville. Thanks!

      Hi Tarin,

Thanks for leaving a suggestion! While I have not officially reviewed them yet, I did attend the soft opening. The food was very good. (I tried the bacon wrapped stuffed dates–amazing–the squash soup–different but good–the pork chop and macaroni–I was very impressed with the gluten free macaroni–and the carrot cake–delicious.)

What I experienced and what I am hearing is that the service is a bit spotty. This is pretty normal for brand new restaurants (and is part of why I don’t review places right as soon as they open). so I suspect they just need some time to settle in.

It would make sense that they are trying to work out some issues; especially since they are so new. I’ll give them a little time to get acclimated & then make the drive out to try them out. Thanks!

The owners of Hildegard’s on Whitesburg opened a new restaurant, Hildegard’s Biergarten, on Heathland near the corner of University and Monrovia. They opened a couple of weeks ago. I expect great things from them.

I suggest you review Mango’s! I was born in Georgetown, Guyana, South America, and I grew up on Caribbean Cuisine! Mango’s does it right and they are always delicious. :) I usually get the Chicken Curry & Dhal Puri, but I get them separated and eat it like we Indians do. :) My Caucasian-American husband really enjoys the Jerk Chicken!
