Huntsville Eats is a site devoted to eating locally in Huntsville, Alabama. Our goal is to help people find and support local food and to show that it doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive to do so. For our purposes, we describe “local food” as food which is grown, produced, or sourced within a 100 mile radius (light green) and/or food which is prepared, cooked, and served within a 50 mile radius (bright green). Wondering why we care? Read our top 5 reasons for going local.
That’s a little abstract, more specifically you can expect to see:
- Local restaurant reviews
- Gardening tips
- Recipes using ingredients from local Farmer’s Markets
- Profiles of people involved in producing or preparing local foods
- Weekly round ups of local foodie news
- Why and how other local people have switched to local food sources
- And more!
