Friday was the kick off of this year’s Restaurant Week in Huntsville. Running through August 25th, it’s a celebration of the diverse, local restaurants we have. Support your old favorites or try someplace new with with price fixed lunch and/or dinner menus. Prices are $5, $10, or $15 for a two course lunch and $10, $20, or $30 for a three course dinner.
You can check out all of the participating restaurants here (Click on “Details” and then “View Restaurant Specials” to see what they are offering). If you are in need of a few suggestions, let me point you towards a few favorites:
Hildegards–Lunch and Dinner
Stellar chicken berlin and spectacular cheesecake won my heart for Hildegard’s. And that cheesecake is part of their dinner special…
New Market BBQ–Lunch Only
Smoked mac and cheese, delicious pulled pork, and an array of dessert choices make New Market BBQ a standout spot. With the cool weather we’ve been having, you might even want to try the picnic tables outside.
Nick’s Ristorante–Dinner Only
A warm, welcoming environment combined with spot on execution makes Nick’s one of my top picks for fine dining. I can vouch for the poached pears (part of the special) as being especially lovely. Do keep in mind that their restaurant is 19+ due to the cigar lounge.
Sandwich Farm–Lunch Only
If you haven’t tried Sandwich farm yet, you need to. And their lunch special–a wedge salad wrap with sweet potato fries and blueberry ice cream–would be an excellent place to start.
The Eaves–Lunch (and Brunch) Only
My favorite spot for killer salads, amazing cheesecake, and a polished atmosphere. In addition to the lunch specials, they are offering a special during their Sunday brunch hours.
